Jack D. Goode gave the ultimate sacrifice. He laid down his life for his country.

During a conflict in the Vietnam War, Jack and his comrades came under heavy fire. In the process Jack was wounded badly and did not survive. Jack helped save many lives of his fellow soldiers by giving the enemy a relentless barrage of heavy gunfire.

We salute Jack and many others who gave all they had, so we can have freedom today.

David L. Goode, the owner of the Uptown Cafe and brother of Jack, is keeping Jack's memory alive by the slight change of the name to, "Jackie B. Goode's" Uptown Cafe in Jack's honor, and having live entertainment on a stage inside the cafe.

Jack was a musician and songwriter before joining the U. S. Armed Forces.
